AARP joins project to address high-priced prescription medicines

AHA News Now

The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing today announced that AARP has joined its effort to find market-based solutions to the problems caused by high-priced prescription medicines. “Although older Americans are particularly vulnerable to high prescription drug costs, this problem has serious health and financial implications for all Americans,” said AARP Chief Public Policy Officer Debra Whitman. “By working together, we can help identify sensible solutions to rising drug prices that balance affordability with the need for continued innovation in the pharmaceutical industry.” AHA joined the campaign in August 2014 and is a member of its steering committee.
