AHRQ provides informed consent training modules for health care professionals

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has released a training resource for hospital leaders that provides guidance on developing informed consent policies and securing organizational support for best practices in informed consent. In addition, the agency has released a training resource for clinical teams on communication strategies to help patients understand informed consent and the benefits, harms and risks of their treatment alternatives. The Joint Commission offers free continuing education credit for the training to its members. Other organizations may obtain the modules from AHRQ at no cost.
