CMS proposes delaying new requirements for HH agencies by six months

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today proposed delaying the effective date for its final rule implementing significant changes to the requirements for home health agencies that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs from July 13, 2017 to Jan. 13, 2018, as requested by the AHA. CMS also proposes to make conforming changes to delay effective dates for updated standards related to performance improvement projects and personnel requirements. The agency will accept comments on the proposal for 60 days.
