CDC: Chronically uninsured rate for adults falls to 7.6%

AHA News Now

An estimated 7.6% of adults under age 65 were uninsured for more than one year when surveyed in the first nine months of 2016, down from 16.8% in 2010, according to a report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The share of chronically uninsured who are Hispanic, employed, aged 35-44 and live in the South grew over the period, but these populations still made significant gains in health coverage, the report notes. The estimates are from the National Health Interview Survey.
