Hargan sworn in as HHS deputy secretary

The U.S. Senate this week voted 57-38 to confirm as Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan, an attorney and shareholder in the health care practice at Greenberg Traurig in Chicago. Hargan, who was sworn in yesterday, previously served on President Trump’s transition team and as HHS deputy general counsel, principal associate deputy secretary and acting deputy secretary under President George W. Bush. After Tom Price, M.D., resigned as HHS secretary last week, President Trump named Don Wright, M.D., as acting secretary. Wright previously served as the department’s acting assistant secretary for health.
