The real story on RACs
Oct 11, 2013
The AHA recently released a video to support the hospital field’s push to rein in recovery audit contractors (RAC) and enact the “Medicare Audit Improvement Act,” S. 1012/H.R. 1250. The AHA and hospital leaders argue that hospitals are drowning in redundant audits, unmanageable medical record requests and inappropriate payment denials; that RACs waste hospital resources and contribute to growing health care costs; and that the auditors receive contingency fee payments, a potential conflict of interest. The AHA encourages its members to share the video with their legislators. To watch the video, tune in here.
